Third Time in Frenchman Coulee is the Charm?

On our first trip to Frenchman Coulee in April 2022, Alexis and I battled a windstorm with 50 km/h wind gusts, threatening to blow our tent over all night long.

On my second trip to Frenchman Coulee in November 2022, the temperatures dipped below freezing and I never felt properly warm the entire weekend.

On this third trip, Alexis and I splurged on a cheap hotel instead of camping, which certainly made life much more comfortable. You can’t argue with proper beds, showers, and a hot tub to relax in.

While we did have to battle some light rain on and off, we still got a lot of fun climbing in. We hit up areas like Feathers, Red Velvet, The Launch Pad, The Empire, Riverview, and Clearview. We cruised a unique 5.5 called Adventure Time and battled our way through a 5.10a called Amalia.

Outside of climbing, Alexis and I went to breweries, kitschy coffee shops, and spent conversations brainstorming future adventures. When we got rained out of our last half day of climbing, we decided to adventure our way home. We poked around the interesting Thorp Fruit & Antique Mall, visited Snoqualmie Falls, frolicked through cherry blossom trees, and of course stopped at REI to look for more gear we didn’t gear.
